Assemblyman Karl Brabenec Highlights Completion of Human Trafficking Task Force Recommendations
The Assembly Minority Task Force on Human Trafficking has completed its work after gathering input from nearly 200 individuals, including survivors, law enforcement and anti-trafficking advocates. This valuable feedback has shaped a comprehensive report and several legislative recommendations aimed at addressing human trafficking in New York.
“I’m deeply grateful to the task force members and everyone who contributed to this critical effort,” said Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C-Deerpark). “Their insights have guided us in creating meaningful solutions to support survivors, strengthen our laws and hold traffickers accountable.”
Key recommendations include expanding supportive housing for survivors, increasing funding for victim services, enhancing law enforcement cooperation and improving protections for trafficking victims. Proposed legislation will address bail reform, prosecution of traffickers and improvements in victim support systems.
“Together, we must take bold action to end human trafficking and support its survivors. These proposals are just the beginning,” Brabenec added.
