Last week, Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Deerpark), in conjunction with Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois, conducted a senior town hall meeting at the Warwick Senior Center to meet and talk with local residents about a life-saving program called “Yellow Dot.” A free program, Yellow Dot is designed to help first responders provide life-saving medical attention during that first “golden hour” after a car crash or other emergency.

“This dot could save your life. It’s as simple as that,” said Brabenec. “I want to thank Sheriff DuBois and the New York State Sheriffs’ Association for offering this service to both the seniors in our community and folks all over the state. The importance of programs like this can’t be understated, and while I hope that most families will never have to use them, the Yellow Dots will go a long way in saving lives.”

The program, organized by the New York State Sheriffs’ Association, is geared toward ensuring individuals, particularly senior citizens, receive timely medical assistance. An official Yellow Dot placed on the driver’s-side rear window of a vehicle will alert first responders that vital medical information is stored in the glove compartment.
