Brabenec Supports Local Businesses, the Foundation of Our Communities
Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark) is celebrating National Independent Retailer Month by encouraging more New Yorkers to buy locally and support small businesses. Brabenec has pushed legislation to limit regulations and decrease taxes to help stimulate economic development in regards to small businesses.
“Local family-owned businesses, also known as ‘Mom & Pop’ shops, are the foundation of our communities,” said Brabenec. “These are the places that you walk into and they already know your breakfast order, that your kid’s graduating kindergarten next week or that your mom is in the hospital. These are the places we need to support. Our conference has always been a big crusader for small-businesses, we advocate for the cut back of taxes and regulations as well as job creation. To us, it is all about putting money back into local families’ pockets. As we celebrate National Independent Retailer Month, I encourage citizens across the state to shop local, small businesses not just during the month of July, but year-round.”
