Brabenec Joins Assembly, Senate Colleagues to Keep Cop-Killer Anthony Bottom in Prison
Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark) joined colleges from the Assembly and Senate today in Albany for a press conference calling on the New York State Parole Board to deny parole to cop-killer Anthony Bottom. Bottom, a member of the Black Liberation Army, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for his role in gunning down two NYPD officers and another police officer in San Francisco.
“Anyone who senselessly murders a first responder or member of law enforcement should be left to rot in prison for the rest of their lives,” Brabenec said. “As the son of an NYPD officer stationed in Harlem for many years, it was difficult not knowing if my father would come home because of terrible individuals like Anthony Bottom. I am urging everyone to sign our petition and keep this dangerous murderer behind bars where he belongs.”
Brabenec is a strong proponent of the Blue Lives Matter Bill, which would make certain crimes against first responders a hate crime.
