Brabenec Announces Improvement Projects Coming To Four Local Libraries
Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark) announced today that funding has been awarded to four local libraries for various construction projects in the 98th Assembly District.
Local Library Projects:
- Albert Wisner Public Library: $4,285 to expand broadband infrastructure
- Greenwood Lake Public Library: $43,181 to replace the flat roof, drainage and gutter system
- Port Jervis Free Library: $214,455 for complete replacement of the library roof, drainage system and asbestos abatement
- Tuxedo Park Library: $117,324 to renovate the interior space and install three new HVAC units
“I have long maintained the importance of free, public libraries to our community, and I am proud to see these projects are finally coming to fruition,” Brabenec said. “Libraries are one of those unique institutions that couple education with leisure and free resources available to the public. From inspiring the future leaders of tomorrow to offering free access to high-speed internet to fostering success for students of all ages, libraries are truly a special place in our community. When the governor set his sights on slashing library aid in this year’s budget, I proudly voiced my opposition and, through our efforts, secured a $1 million increase. Local libraries will always have my support in Albany.”
