“While today’s sentencing of Joseph Percoco is certainly a victory for proponents of ethics reform in Albany, it’s clear that we still have a long way to go in our efforts to eliminate the corruption we’ve seen under the Cuomo administration. As lawmakers, we need to continue to push for initiatives such as the Public Officers Accountability Act (A.05864) that will increase transparency in our state government, and ensure our hardworking taxpayers are not left to foot the bill for the misdeeds of their representatives. New Yorkers deserve leadership they can trust, and moving forward, I will continue to fight for the changes we need to prevent this type of misconduct.”
