Brabenec Named Assistant Minority Whip, Reappointed Ranking Minority Member of Labor Committee
Brabenec chosen for crucial leadership position as third term set to commence on Jan. 1
Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,TCN-Deerpark) announced today that he has been named Assistant Minority Whip of the Assembly Minority Conference, and was reappointed as Ranking Minority member of the Labor Committee, as well as reappointed to numerous other committees.
“I would like to thank Leader Kolb for placing his faith in me, and I am thrilled to accept this position as Assistant Minority Whip of the Assembly Minority Conference,” said Brabenec. “With New York City politicians now controlling both legislative chambers and the governor’s mansion, rallying and inspiring my colleagues to fight back against their dangerous proposals is more important than ever, and I will be sure to lead by example.
“Our caucus is one of the few roadblocks left between radical tax and spend politicians and the middle-class,” Brabenec continued. “As we near the opening of the 2019 Session, rest assured I will continue to beat the drum for property and school tax relief, infrastructure upgrades and an end to government corruption and bid-rigging.”
The leadership post comes as Brabenec is set to begin his third term when the legislature reconvenes in early January.
“I am excited to appoint Karl Brabenec as Assistant Minority Whip of the Assembly Minority Conference. Since joining the Assembly in 2014, Karl has been a hard-working, insightful and productive member of our Conference. He has consistently put the needs of his constituents first and fought diligently for the people of the 98th Assembly District. I congratulate Karl on this well-earned promotion and look forward to working with him in this new role,” said Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I,Ref-Canandaigua).
