Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Deerpark) proudly announced today that he has been named to the all-important Assembly Ways and Means Committee which is responsible for considering, debating and passing all budgetary legislation and any bills which have a fiscal impact on the state. Ways and Means members are also heavily involved in the state budget process in March, tasked with attending many budget conference committees and hearings.

I’m pleased to appoint Karl to the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means, and know he will play a valuable role on this important committee,” Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay said. “With a $6.1 billion budget deficit, we need to make some tough choices and rein in Albany’s runaway spending. Karl has always fought tirelessly on behalf of the taxpayers in his district, and I look forward to working alongside him this year.
