Brabenec Joins Call to End the Confusion, Unmask New York School Children
Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I- Deerpark) joined members of the Assembly Minority Conference today on the lawn of the state Capitol to announce a bill that would put an end to the mask requirement for minors under 18 years of age with no COVID-19 symptoms. The bill would prohibit mandating masks for children in schools, summer camps and day programs.
“The guidance and mandates the governor’s administration has imposed on our kids have been inconsistent and confusing,” said Brabenec. “For far too long our kids have had to deal with conflicting rules and demands from the state. It is time to stop. It makes no sense to force kids without COVID-19 symptoms to wear a mask when the science shows it is safe. Our bill will eliminate the confusion and nonsense and help New Yorkers start getting back to normal.”
