Assemblywoman Buttenschon Honors Parkinson’s Ambassador Paula Flisnik of Oneida County

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D-Marcy) honored Parkinson’s Ambassador Paula Flisnik from Oneida County as the New York State Assembly proclaimed April as Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month in New York State.

"Parkinson's is a serious medical diagnosis that affects the central nervous system. While every community is affected by this disease, Oneida County is one of the hardest-hit counties in New York State. I applaud my colleague for introducing this important resolution,” said Assemblywoman Buttenschon. “I was proud to introduce my constituent, Parkinson’s Ambassador Paula Flisnik, to the Assembly and thank her for her work with those suffering from Parkinson's."

Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2011, Paula's spirit remains unbroken as she encourages others to embrace life to the fullest.

In addition to this resolution, Assemblywoman Buttenschon presented Paula Flisnik with a proclamation for her service to Oneida County.

“Paula truly represents what makes the Mohawk Valley the best community in New York State; we are dedicated to helping others out despite the adversity we face," stated Buttenschon. "I would like to thank Paula once again for her service to not just our community, but to all patients suffering from Parkinson’s.”Assemblywoman Buttenschon’s floor remarks here: https://nyassembly.gov/mem/Marianne-Buttenschon/video/24190/#videos
