Today, Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D-C Marcy) proudly announced the successful passing of her bill to allow beer to be served at the Boilermaker post-race party in the New York State Assembly.

“Last year, the New York State Assembly passed legislation that inadvertently repealed an existing law, preventing the F.X. Matt Brewing Company in Utica from serving free beer during the Boilermaker after-party," explained Assemblywoman Buttenschon."My legislation, which amends the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, now allows the F.X. Matt Brewing Company to serve their beer at the annual Boilermaker race and festival, a significant boost for the company."

Every year, community members gather at the F.X. Matt Brewery to celebrate the Boilermaker, Utica's largest event. Part of the celebration includes free beer for all attendees over the age of 21.

“The Boilermaker race attracts thousands of people to the Mohawk Valley and allows the F.X. Matt Brewing Company to showcase their fantastic product to visitors across New York State. It is vital that they can serve their product to spectators and race participants," stated Buttenschon. "I want to thank my colleagues for passing my legislation to ensure Utica's iconic brewery can keep up the tradition of serving their product at our largest event of the year."
