Assemblywoman Buttenschon (D-Utica) tonight released a comment regarding an apparent misunderstanding of her vote on A.2991 in the Higher Education Committee. "I fully support this measure," said Buttenschon. "I voted against holding the bill in committee – which is actually a vote in favor of advancing the measure through the legislative process. I support military families and honor those who have served and sacrificed. Everyone deserves access to an affordable, accessible higher education. I was also proud to support this year’s budget that fully supports the MERIT Scholarship, which provides financial aid to the families of veterans who died in combat."

Buttenschon is a New York State Assemblywoman covering the 119th district, which serves a large part of the Mohawk Valley.
