Note from Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon

I would like to personally thank everyone involved in my first Winter Accessories Drive, which was held in collaboration with the Utica Comets and Utica City Football Club. During this drive, I was in awe of the generosity shown by individuals, churches and other organizations who came together to help less fortunate families stay warm during the frigid winter months. This drive was a reminder of how caring and welcoming the citizens of the 119th district truly are, and that our community know what it means to be a good neighbor.

I especially would like to thank Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority for donating the boxes that were used at drop-off locations throughout the 119th district. I would also like to thank the staff and administration at the Frankfort Town Hall, Marcy Town Hall, Floyd Town Hall, Jervis Public Library, Dunham Public Library, The Adirondack Bank Center at Utica Memorial Auditorium and Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome and Utica campuses for hosting drop-off locations.

Thanks to our many generous donors, we were able to donate hundreds of hats, mittens, scarves and other winter accessories to Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees and Upstate Cerebral Palsy.

No matter how big or small the contribution, we have all positively impacted our neighbors’ lives through the simple act of giving. I hope you all have a great and safe holiday season and continue this spirit of giving in the new year!

Best,

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon
