Smullen Supports Election Integrity

Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C,I,SAM-Meco) was joined by fellow Minority colleagues today at a press conference calling for further election security measures in preparation for this year’s election cycle. Following a stint of concerning new voting laws in New York City, and a general unease nationwide about the integrity of the voting process, Smullen is hoping that New York can pave the way towards a more secure future by ensuring in the state constitution that only American citizens can vote.

“The growing concern of election integrity is the result of bad-faith actors granting incredible power to those who don't play by the rules,” Smullen said. “This is a fundamental issue which requires the entire legislature to ensure an amendment for our constitution passed so we may certify all elections moving forward. There has been too much concern with the rules of voting in our state and nation, and we need to be clear once and for all."
