Smullen Holds Press Conference to Present $50,000 Matching Gift to Fulton County Regional SPAC in Honor of Late Son, AJ
Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) held a press conference today, Dec. 20, 2024, at the Fulton County Regional Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Gloversville. At the press conference, Smullen and his wife, Megan, presented a $50,000 matching gift to the Fulton County Regional SPCA to aid in its relocation to the site of a new shelter. The Fulton County Regional SPCA was one of the donation beneficiaries in honor of Alexander John “AJ” Smullen, Robert and Megan Smullen’s late son.
“This cause is very close to our hearts,” says Smullen. “My son had an incredible bond with his dogs, and I can’t think of a better way to honor his memory than by helping the Fulton County Regional SPCA build a brighter future for animals in our community. I encourage everyone to join me in this effort and turn $50,000 into $100,000 by donating in his name.”
The end date for the matching campaign is currently open-ended, and every dollar donated in honor of AJ will be matched up to $50,000, doubling the impact of community contributions. Donations can be made online or by mail to P.O. Box 1274, Gloversville, NY 12078.
