Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C,Ref-Meco) has joined his colleagues in launching a petition to support further action on Assembly Bill A.2991 that would provide tuition assistance for families of service members who have lost their lives on active duty. As a cosponsor of this bipartisan legislation, Smullen is urging the Chair of the Higher Education Committee to bring this bill to the floor for a vote.

​“It’s a shame that some of my colleagues voted to hold this bill in committee last week,” said Smullen. “This legislation is long overdue. After stalling for over six years, I think it is time we work together to provide this assistance to military families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.”
