New York enters the new decade in a truly dangerous position. Because of irresponsible government spending and inefficiency, our state faces a $6 billion budget shortfall. Instead of reform, the Governor and the Assembly Majority in the Legislature want to double down on the same failed policies of higher taxes and more government control.

I believe we need to reject the tax-and-spend policies of the past decade in favor of one that provides tax relief, accountability for state agencies and reduces unfunded mandates to our counties and local governments.

A new decade is a time for change, and our state needs to move in a different direction. In Albany, I will be a clear voice for what matters- protecting life, liberty and enhancing prosperity for all communities throughout New York.
