Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C,I,SAM-Meco) voted to overturn the Governor’s Executive Order requiring restaurateurs to serve food with alcohol, and easing capacity and operating restrictions set on them during the course of the pandemic.He is continuing to fight for restaurant owners’ independence to operate their businesses as they see fit. With the COVID-19 pandemic finally under control and the need to restart the economy at the forefront of concern, Smullen believes restricting restaurants is doing unnecessary long term harm.

​“I’m glad to begin the process of letting our restaurants operate normally, but we all know this process is still moving too slow,” Smullen said. “The science does not support these arbitrary restrictions imposed on restaurants, and the owners and customers are both smart and responsible enough to operate at pre-pandemic levels once again. Our job in government should be to get out of their way as fast as possible.”
