Thousands Enjoy Pesach Family Extravaganzas Sponsored by Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein
A memorable Chol Hamoed was enjoyed this year by thousands of local residents who experienced a fun-filled family outing in their very own neighborhood.Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein sponsored two outstanding Family Extravaganzas in Boro Park and Midwood. The massive turnout is testimony to the tremendous success of these two events.
On Tuesday, April 19th, in conjunction with COJO of Flatbush, a Free Family Extravaganza was held in Midwood at Avenue M and East 17th street.Aside from enjoying an assortment of rides and activities, the large crowd was entertained by singing celebrities Uri Davidi and Yoeli Falkowitz. Complimentary snacks and refreshments were also made available to the children who participated in the festivities.
On Wednesday, under deep blue skies, the Boro Park community enjoyed a wide range of rides and inflatables as well as a petting zoo, pony rides, a magic show, Simon Sez, and entertainment by Uncle Moishy. This free event was held at the 18th Avenue Park and was in partnership with the Boro Park Jewish Community Council.
“My goal was to provide an opportunity for our local residents to enjoy a first-class Chol Hamoed outing without having to spend a fortune or drive to a distant location.” said Assemblyman Eichenstein, “Judging by the big smiles on the faces of the children who attended, I think that both of these events were hugely successful.”
Yom Tov may be over but the wonderful memories of the Free Family Extravaganzas in Midwood and Boro Park will last for a long time to come.
“I look forward to continuing to provide for the needs of the community in the future,” Assemblyman Eichenstein concluded.
“Just watching so many thousands of children jumping for joy and running from ride to ride brought such excitement to us at the BPJCC and a warm feeling to me personally,” said Avi Greenstein, CEO of the BPJCC.“We put in many months of hard work to make this event a success, and to see it work out so flawlessly is heartwarming. We are so grateful to Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein for sponsoring this extravaganza and bringing joy to so many families.”
COJO Flatbush CEO Louis Welz said he was particularly gratified knowing the Extravaganza had helped community members keep money in their pockets at a time when families are dealing with tighter household budgets. "Given the high cost of entertainment and the size of so many of our families," he pointed out, "an afternoon of cost-free fun and activity can save a family a couple of hundred dollars or more."
Welz expressed his deep appreciation to Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein for co-sponsoring the Extravaganza. "The Assemblyman's involvement," he said, "was essential to our being able to put together our first Extravaganza since 2019, pre-Covid. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Assemblyman in ways that benefit the community."
