Hawley Announces Governor’s Plan to Invest in Genesee County Water Supply
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C-Batavia) recently announced the governor’s plan to work with the Monroe County Water Authority to provide water to several municipalities. Genesee County is receiving $30 million in Bond Act funding as the third phase of the drinking water supply project. This initiative will aim to upgrade the infrastructure in the region and help to improve the systems throughout the community. This announcement comes as Genesee County is experiencing one of the most intense droughts the region has seen in recent history. Hawley is pleased to see this investment by the state government in the district and hopes these improvements will help the people of western New York during these hard times.
“I’m proud to see the state government step up and do its part to help the people of Western New York,” said Hawley. “Right now. Genessee County is going through one of the most intense droughts we have seen in our lifetime and this investment will go a long way to help residents bounce back. I hope our leadership will continue to provide the support needed for our district as we navigate through these difficult times.”
