Hawley’s Committee Appointments Announced
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,I,C-Batavia) will continue to serve as the Ranking Minority Member on the Social Services Committee for the 2007 legislative session and has retained membership with the committees on Agriculture and Aging.
Hawley has also been appointed to the Veterans’ Affairs, Economic Development, and Transportation Committees.
“The new legislative session brings opportunity to work across party lines for the betterment of all New Yorkers,” said Hawley. “As Western New Yorkers, we face many challenges in bringing new jobs to the region, lowering taxes, and caring for the elderly. My committee membership allows me to work on these issues directly, guaranteeing that the people in our community are heard in these important committees.”
“Assemblyman Hawley’s dedication to his constituents and the people of Western New York is unparalleled,” said Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco (R,I,C,- Schenectady, Saratoga). “I am confident Assemblyman Hawley will do a wonderful job for our conference and the people of this state by continuing his fight for lower taxes, job creation, and controlled government spending while serving on these important committees.”
