Hawley Hosts Local Government Conference In Albany
Officials & Representatives from 139th Assembly District Join Hawley for 3-Day Conference
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R-I-C - Batavia) hosted his third Local Government Conference earlier this week in Albany for more than 70 local government officials and representatives from around the 139th Assembly District. The purpose of the 3-day conference was to help establish better communication between local and state officials.
“During these difficult fiscal times for our state, it’s very important that state and local governments try to build stronger relationships and streamline communication in order to better serve our community in a more efficient and less costly way,” said Hawley. “I was glad to see so many local government officials and representatives take advantage of this opportunity.”
County Legislators, Town Supervisors, Town Councilmen, Village Mayors, Village Trustees, Highway Superintendents, Town Clerks, Assessors, Planning Board Members, and Historians attended several seminars, meetings and lectures presented by state agencies. Additionally, they had the opportunity to meet with their state representatives to discuss local government issues.
“As always, I enjoyed hosting this conference, introducing many on the floor of the Assembly, and look forward to hosting conferences like this in the future,” Hawley concluded.
