Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R, I, C – Batavia) is continuing his tour of local businesses in an effort to forge a partnership between private sector job creators and state government. Most recently, Hawley visited the Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics manufacturing and packaging plant in Albion, which already employs 200 people and is set to add 20 new jobs in March.

“Saint-Gobain is an example of how a competitive business environment can bolster Western New York’s economy,” said Hawley. “Over the last several years, this company has not only remained in our region, but has grown new job opportunities through the expansion of its operations. By meeting with Saint-Gobain’s management, I am confident that we have developed a course of action that will allow the company to prosper and increase employment for Western New Yorkers moving forward.”

Among the many products made by Saint-Gobain, they are best known for the fabric-based reinforcement products that are used on more than 90 percent of the boats in the America’s Cup sailboat race. Assemblyman Hawley’s business tours have led him to a number of job-creators, both big and small. Past stops include Liberty Pumps, Pavilion Gifts, Offhaus Farms, English Rose Tea Shop and Binding Book Store.
