Hawley Announces Permanent Rifle Hunting In Genesee County
A Statement from Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) on signing of law that makes rifle hunting permanent
“I am very pleased that Gov. Cuomo has signed Assembly Bill 6530-A, which permanently allows rifle hunting in Genesee County. As someone who has always passionately fought for Second Amendment rights, I am happy I was able to author this bill on behalf of the tens of thousands of hunters, rod and gun clubs and rifle owners in Western New York and give them a voice in Albany.
“In a time when there are so many restrictions on a New Yorker’s right to own and operate firearms, I am thrilled we were able to move forward and make this bill law. It is important that we continue to fight to make sure New Yorkers’ right to bear arms is both respected and upheld. This bill will ensure that hunting, which is a deep-rooted tradition in Western New York, continues into the future.”
