Hawley Visits NYC For Staten Island Tour With Assemblyman Michael Cusick
In an effort to curb the waning bipartisanship in today's political climate, Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) has completed a tour of a portion of Staten Island represented by Assemblyman Michael Cusick (D-Staten Island), which included stops at agricultural sites, a local New York City Police Department precinct, the site of a large-scale future shopping outlet and a famous pizza shop. The tour came full circle as Cusick visited Hawley's district this past summer.
"I was very pleased to tour a vastly different part of our state that I rarely visit," Hawley said. "It is paramount as lawmakers to build a resume of experiences and perspective not only in your own hometown and district but also in other regions where the culture, desires and needs of residents may be in contrast to your own. At the end of the day, our common goal as Assembly members is to make our state the best it can be and a place our families can be proud to call home. I met some extraordinary people during the course of this tour and thank Assemblyman Cusick for his hospitality."
Hawley is also set to tour part of Long Island represented by Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick (R,C,I-Smithtown) this week.
