Westchester Assembly Delegation Hosts NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) Job Fair
On March 24th, the Westchester Assembly Delegation sponsored a DOT Job Fair at the Greenburgh Public Library. Assemblyman Steve Otis (D-Rye) helped to coordinate arrangements for the Job Fair, which was a tremendous success. Over 65 attendees from 14 municipalities across Westchester County attended the event, seeking information on full-time positions in the areas of Highway Maintenance, Motor Equipment Mechanics and Structural Engineering. Staff from the DOT provided brochures and information sheets in Spanish as well as English and helped attendees fill out applications for the various positions.
“Governor Cuomo and DOT Commissioner Driscoll know investment in infrastructure creates and sustains jobs. I thank Assembly members Steve Otis, Shelley Mayer, Tom Abinanti, David Buchwald, Gary Pretlow and the entire delegation for their assistance in sponsoring this successful Job Fair to help make the public aware of the many opportunities for full-time employment at the New York State Department of Transportation,” said Thomas McIntyre, Assistant Commissioner.
“I am grateful to Assistant Commissioner McIntyre and his staff for hosting the DOT Job Fair in Westchester County. Events like these are an important way for members of our community to learn first-hand about job opportunities in state government, and we hope to sponsor other Job Fairs with the NYSDOT in the future,” stated Otis.
