Assemblyman Colton Has Openings for Summer Interns at his District Office
Students who are at least 14 years old are invited to apply to be a summer intern at the office of Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights).
Students accepted for the opportunity will work out of Assemblyman Colton’s district office at 155 Kings Highway.
“This is a terrific opportunity for students in high school and college to learn about and participate in public service,” said Assemblyman Colton. “The students who work in our office over the summer benefit from a wide range of experiences that can broaden their understanding of government and also help them build their own networks as they move forward from education to beginning their careers. We involve them in neighborhood projects, provide networking opportunities and introduce them to community leaders who can provide unique perspectives on the challenges faced by local residents, all of which gives them a solid grounding in the intricacies of government work as they refine their own career goals.”
Work schedules are flexible, based on students’ availability.
Students interested in applying should call Assemblyman Colton’s Co-Chief of Staff Sarah at 718-236-1598 or stop into the office during office hours: Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, noon to 8 p.m.; and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
