Stay informed on Lyme and Tick-Borne Illness

Welcome and thank you for visiting my page to raise awareness of Lyme and tick-borne illness. Here, you’ll find information about Lyme disease, helpful tips on tick detection, external webpages that provide the latest information on Lyme disease and tick-borne illness in CNY, and important legislation.

As we welcome warmer days and more people head outdoors, it’s important to know the signs of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases and take steps to prevent them. Since these diseases can be challenging to diagnose, taking preventative measures are essential to protecting ourselves and our loved ones. Tick-borne diseases are a pervasive threat to our communities that requires a concerted effort to tackle the issue. In fact, New York has the second-highest amount of reported Lyme disease cases among all states.[1] I’ve supported legislation to help tackle tick-related issues, including awareness campaigns, bolstering prevention and ensuring health insurance coverage for treatment. There’s still more work to be done, but following best practices can help protect our family, friends and pets.
