“Making life more affordable for Central New Yorkers continues to be one of my top priorities and lowering taxes on middle-income earners is one of the most efficient ways we can provide real financial relief to working families. That’s why I am sponsoring legislation to improve our state’s tax system and help shift some of the burden off middle-class families.

“In addition, the measure would make recent middle-class tax cuts permanent, further reduce the personal income tax rate for more than 5 million middle-income earners, and expand the state Earned Income Tax Credit to help put more money back in the pockets of the hardworking families who need it most.

“Cutting taxes is a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done to help our families achieve the economic security they deserve. Moving forward, I’ll keep fighting to provide financial relief to Central New Yorkers and build a brighter future for our communities.”
