Assemblyman Stirpe: Assembly Budget Proposal Makes College More Affordable
March 10, 2016
“In recent years, the cost of attending college has skyrocketed, leaving many graduates struggling to pay off their student loan debt as they begin their careers.
“The Assembly budget proposal would support students by increasing funding to SUNY and freezing the price of tuition for the next two years. This would help to keep the dream of a college education within reach for many New Yorkers.
“As the father of a daughter who attends a SUNY school, I recognize the important contributions that our public colleges make to our state education system. As we move forward with the budget process, I will work to ensure that SUNY schools remain an affordable option for middle-class families.”
