Assemblyman Stirpe Pushes for Consumer Representation in Fight for Ratepayer Rights
May 11, 2016
“Hardworking families have been denied fair and adequate representation in utility matters for too long, while utility companies take advantage of the lack of accountability and transparency to raise rates. Consumers, especially those who are already struggling to make ends meet, deserve a strong, proactive advocate to address their concerns throughout the utility rate-making process.
“Today, I was proud to cast my vote in support of establishing the Office of the Utility Consumer Advocate (UCA) to help consumers fight for lower utility bills and put more money back into the pockets of Central New York Families.”
