“The actions of the Cuomo administration that were brought to light yesterday are deeply concerning and serve as evidence that New York’s coronavirus response failed nursing home residents and staff. It was particularly troubling to hear that the questions the legislature had asked about COVID cases in nursing homes went unanswered because of the perceived partisan political climate and concern about possible investigations. Now more than ever, our communities need transparency from those they’ve elected – hiding information out of fear of the reaction is simply unacceptable. These are trying times, requiring not just leadership but accountability.
