Welcome Letter

Dear Neighbors & Friends,

I am honored to represent you and to advocate for policies that improve the lives of my constituents and people across the State.

As a disability civil rights lawyer, former teacher of deaf students, and community activist, I know what it takes to fight for New Yorkers. As your Assemblymember, I’m working to protect our environment, strengthen our schools, ensure justice for workers, and tackle the affordability crisis.

Together, we have built support for gun violence prevention laws, voter and campaign finance reform, protected reproductive health, improved literacy for kids, and strengthened our transit system. As Chair of the Mental Health Committee, I’m also working to improve the way New York delivers mental health care for teens and older adults.

You can use this website to learn about legislation I sponsor, the committees I serve on, the state budget, and watch legislative sessions and hearings.

You can also stop by my office in Carroll Gardens and speak with my staff about unemployment, SNAP, HEAP, housing, health care, transit and more. Please do not hesitate to contact my office with questions at 718-246-4889 or 518-455-5426.

It is truly my privilege to serve you.

Very truly yours,
Jo Anne Simon
