Simpson Appointed Ranking Minority Member of Environmental Conservation

Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C,I-Horicon) was appointed by Minority Assembly Leader Will Barclay as ranking Minority member of the Environmental Conservation Committee for this upcoming legislative session. As the most senior Minority member of the committee, Simpson will be overseeing issues such as climate change mitigation, parks and recreation, waste management and invasive species.

Simpson also sits on the Local Government, Social Services, and Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development committees since his first year elected to office in 2020.

β€œIt is an honor to be appointed by the leader to a committee so important to the North Country. Since I was elected as an assemblyman, my goal was to protect our beautiful Adirondack Park, Lake George, and the other numerous and remarkable waterways the North Country hosts in order to continue holding the beauty of our state right here in our backyards,” said Simpson. β€œI will continue to work tirelessly for the constituents of the 114th Assembly District and the residents of New York.”
