Simpson: Amtrak to Reopen Adirondack Line

Today, Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Horicon) announced that Amtrak has committed to reopening their Adirondack Line by April 3. Simpson thanked Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21) for her advocacy in getting the line reopened.

“This is a great day for the Adirondack region as Amtrak has announced they will be reopening their Adirondack line. I first want to thank Congresswoman Stefanik and her team for their constant advocacy, this couldn't have happened without them. The Adirondack line runs all the way from Montreal to Albany, but stops along the route, including those in Whitehall, Ticonderoga, Westport, Fort Henry and Fort Edward, have been closed since the beginning of the pandemic. This reopening will result in increased economic activity and growth, as well as an influx of tourists looking to explore the Adirondacks,” said Simpson.
