Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Adirondack) joined state and local leaders this morning for the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the new Shepard Park Amphitheater.

The project replaces the historic venue, which was destroyed by fire in 2024, and represents a major investment in Lake George’s downtown and waterfront. The new amphitheater will serve as a premier destination for concerts and community events for years to come.

In attendance were Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, Assembly Minority Leader Ed Ra (R,C-Franklin Square), Town Supervisor Vinnie Crocitto and Village Mayor Ray Perry.

“Today is a proud moment for Lake George,” said Simpson. “I want to extend my deepest thanks to Speaker Carl Heastie for his support in making this project a reality. This beautiful new amphitheater is a tremendous upgrade for the village and will help boost tourism and allow families and visitors to continue to create unforgettable experiences. I’m thrilled to celebrate this success with our local and state partners and look forward to many summers of music and memories on the shores of Lake George.”

The $5.4 million project was funded through a strong partnership that included $2.5 million from the New York Downtown Revitalization Initiative and $2.9 million secured by the New York State Assembly.
