Simpson Ready to Get to Work
Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C,I-Horicon) was sworn in on Wednesday for his first term in the state Assembly as the new representative for the 114th Assembly District. Simpson will sit on a number of important committees including Environmental Conservation, Local Governments and Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development. In addition, Simpson will serve as the Ranking Minority member on the Social Services Committee.
“Serving the 114th Assembly District will be one of the great honors of my life,” said Simpson. “I look forward to getting to work and delivering real results for the people of our community during these unprecedented times. I will ensure upstate voices are being heard for important budget decisions through my position as ranking member on the Social Services Committee and fight for protections to preserve our beautiful Adirondack region. As we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be my mission to protect small business owners and struggling families statewide. Businesses desperately trying to stay afloat and families who are unsure where their next meal will come from deserve relief. I'm honored to serve you and be your voice in our state Assembly.”
