Assemblywoman Solages on New York Court of Appeals Decision Upholding Early Mail Voter Act
Valley Stream, NY – In response to the decision of the New York Court of Appeals in Stefanik v. Hochul, upholding the Early Mail Voter Act, New York State Assemblymember Michaelle C. Solages released the following statement:
“The New York State Court of Appeals, our state's highest court, has upheld the Early Mail Voter Act in a decisive 6-1 ruling. This landmark decision reaffirms our commitment to expanding access to the ballot box and ensuring that every New Yorker has the opportunity to make their voice heard in our democracy.
We must remain vigilant and resolute in our efforts to protect and expand voting rights. Our democracy is strongest when every eligible voter can participate without fear or obstruction. Now more than ever, we need to stand together to defend the rights of all New Yorkers and ensure that our elections are fair, free, and accessible to everyone.”
