Elmont, NY – Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages and Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages recently welcomed families from across Elmont and surrounding communities to the annual Elmont Family Day and Basketball Tournament at Dutch Broadway Elementary School.

Held in collaboration with Core Group Enterprises and BeingEgypt Cares, the free event featured food, games, raffles, vendors and activities for residents of all ages. Families also had the opportunity to connect with local organizations and learn more about resources available throughout the community.

A highlight of the celebration was the basketball tournament, which gave young athletes between the ages of 11 and 17 an opportunity to compete, demonstrate their skills and enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition.

The celebration continued a growing Elmont tradition centered on bringing families together while supporting youth engagement, community pride and positive recreational opportunities.

Assemblywoman Solages also thanked Walmart and Resorts World New York City for supporting the event, along with the participating vendors, organizations and volunteers who contributed to the day’s success.
